Stingrays Swim Team Registration
Hello Swimmers and Families!
Reminder that registration for our summer league swim team is open.
A membership with SORA is required in order to be eligible to register for the team. Families with swimmers 14 and under must have a full family membership while teens 15 and up may register with an individual "teen" membership.
First use the SORA website to purchase a membership, then use the Spring Branch Stingrays Swimtopia website for team registration. There is also a link on the SORA website.
Swim team is not intended to take the place of beginner swim lessons. We welcome young swimmers, but are not able to handle those that have no or very little experience in the water. We simply ask that the swimmer can float and self propel themselves unassisted. We plan to have junior coaches available to help with practices, but at this time we are not sure if they will be able to be in the water due to distancing or physical contact restrictions.
For the first week, we will allow swimmers to practice and "try out" without membership/registration to see if the program is a fit for you. A temporary liability waiver will be necessary. But after the first week, paid registration will be required.
A few things to remember:
- If a swimmer is currently participating in a USA or YMCA program, they must discontinue by March 31 (this Wed.) to be eligible for summer league.
- Deadline to register and be guaranteed a t-shirt is May 2.
- Calendar and practice times are posted on the Swimtopia website.
- Swim meets this year will likely be structured to minimize crowd size, such as limiting spectator numbers and separate boys and girls meets.
- Fund raising activities may be required this year to cover our various expenses since sponsorship and concession revenue is uncertain at this time.
We hope to have a fun, safe and productive program for 2021.
Thanks and Go Stingrays!!!
